چکیده
Liosarcophaga babiyari, is recorded for the first time in Saudi Arabia Kingdom This species was incorrectly identified by some authors as Parasarcophaga dux (Zumpt, 1951 and Povolony, 1987), as Parasarcophaga (Liosarcophaga) exuberans (Rohdendorf (1963), as Sarcophaga exuberans (Zumpt, 1964 & 1972) and finally as Thyrsocnema exuberans (Dear, 1980). Lehrer (1995 & 2006a) differentiated between the P. dux and L. babiyari using the morphology and the structure of the male genitalia and came to the conclusion that L. babiyari is a new species.

Effect of the climate and some different protein diets on the visitation pattern of flesh and blow flies of Gebel Al- Baher, Al- Baha Province, Kingdom Saudi Arabia
This work compares the effect of the climate and some different protein diets on the activity of flesh and blow fly populations in one of the biggest mountains of Sarah region, south-west Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Trapping of adult flies revealed the presence of three populations, namely, Engelisca adhamae (Lehrer & AbouZied, 2008) and Liosarcophaga babiyari (Lehrer, 1995), in addition to a sing...
متن کاملUltrastructure of the Antennal Sensillae of Male and Female Peach Fruit Fly, Bactrocera zonata
Antennal morphology and funicular sensillae of male and female peach fruit flies, Bactrocera zonata (Saunders) (Diptera: Tephritidae), were studied with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This study focused on the sensillae found on the antennal segments (scape, pedicel, and flagellum or funiculus that bears the arista) of B. zonata. Antennal segments of females tended to be larger than those ...

Antennal sensillae of male and female peach fruit flies, Bactrocera zonata (Saunders) (Diptera: Tephritidae), obtained from three different host fruit species (guava, Psidium guajava L. (Myrtales: Myrtaceae); peach, Prunus persica (L.) Stokes (Rosales: Rosaceae); and orange, Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck (Sapindales: Rutaceae)), were studied with scanning electron microscopy. This study was carri...
متن کاملThe olfactory responses of the antenna and maxillary palp of the fleshfly, Neobellieria bullata (Diptera: Sarcophagidae), and their sensitivity to blockage of nitric oxide synthase.
The relative sensitivities of the olfactory receptors in the antenna and maxillary palp of the fleshfly, Neobellieria bullata, were assessed using simultaneous electroantennograms (EAGs) and electropalpograms (EPGs). In general, the antennae and maxillary palps were more sensitive to odors related to animals (blood extract and saturated carboxylic acid) than to odors that were plant-derived (ci...

The larval growth of Liosarcophaga dux Thompson (Diptera: Sarcophagidae) was studied under varying indoor room temperatures in Malaysia. Five replicates were established. The immature growth of this species from first instar until adult emergence was 307.0+/-3.0 hours. The mean larval length measured for second instar, third instar, post-feeding stage and puparia were 6.5+/-0.5 mm (n=10), 11.8+...
